There is also a hand-written note attached which reads - \u003ci\u003ePainted by Lt Col Seccombe.  Belonged to Alfred Hoole of Hallam Gate, Sheffield, father of Dorice Beaumont\u003c\/i\u003e.  Records suggest Alfred Hoole was a veterinary surgeon from a prominent Sheffield family. A Dorice Beaumont, daughter of Alfred Hoole of Hallam Gate , Sheffield is recorded as getting married in Port Said in 1917.
