The Battle of Großbeeren, fought on August 23rd 1813, was a major engagement during the War of the Sixth Coalition against Napoleon. It took place near the village of GroBbeeren, south of Berlin, between the Prussian forces, led by General Karl von Gneisenau, and the French army under General Pierre Augereau. The battle resulted in a decisive victory for the Prussians, who successfully repelled the French advance towards Berlin.
