Captain G H Woolley of Queen Victoria's Rifles Holding His Trench by Richard Caton Woodville [New Print Edition]

During the Second Battle of Ypres on the 20th of April 1915, 2nd Lt. Geoffrey Woolley and his men defended Hill 60 valiantly. Woolley, who had refused commands to retreat from his position would lead his men to repel many attacks throughout the night, ultimately losing all but 14 of his men. He was awarded a VC for this and promoted to Captain.
