On the evening of August 28th 1882, during the Anglo-Egyptian War, General Drury Drury-Lowe led the British Household Cavalry in a dramatic moonlight charge against Egyptian Forces at Kassassin. Charging across the desert at full gallop the cavalry smashed through enemy lines, capturing guns and dispersing infantry, helping to secure the British position and paving the way for the final advance on Cairo.
