The Battle of Raszyn, fought on April 19, 1809, during the War of the Fifth Coalition, was a significant engagement between Polish and Austrian forces near the village of Raszyn, in present-day Poland. Despite being outnumbered, the Polish troops put up a strong resistance and managed to hold their ground effectively. The battle was notable
for its intense fighting and demonstrated the Polish army's resilience. Although the Austrians eventually forced the Poles to retreat, the engagement delayed the Austrian advance and allowed the Polish forces to regroup and continue their resistance against the Austrian invasion.
