The Tyrolean Rebellion, occurred between 1809 and 1810 in the Tyrol region, which is now part of modern-day Austria and Italy. It was a nationalist revolt led by local Tyrolean leader Andreas Hofer against the occupying forces of Napoleon's French Empire and their Bavarian allies. The Tyroleans, leveraging their knowledge of the mountainous terrain
launched a series of successful guerrilla attacks. Despite initial victories including the notable Battle of Bergisel, the rebellion was ultimately quelled as French and Bavarian forces regained control.
