The Battle of Friedland, fought on June 14, 1807, was a decisive conflict between Napoleon's French forces and the Russian army, commanded by General Levin August von Bennigsen. Napoleon's strategic brilliance and superior numbers overwhelmed the Russians, who were positioned disadvantageously near the Alle River. The French forces launched a series of coordinated attacks, eventually breaking through the Russian lines and forcing them into a chaotic retreat.
