Napoleon's Grande Armee was comprised of around 600,000 troops at its peak, it was known for its organization, discipline and innovative tactics, including rapid manoeuvres and sophisticated coordinated attacks. Despite its initial successes, the Grande Armee suffered severe losses during the ill-fated Russian campaign of 1812 which led to its eventual decline and the weakening of Napoleon's military power in Europe.
