Oliver Cromwell after the Battle of Marston Moor by Ernest Crofts. [Postcard]

At the Battle of Marston Moor, July 1644, Prince Rupert had nearly won the battle after an initial cavalry charge routing three quarters of the Parliamentary Army, but he continued the pursuit too far. The remaining part of the New Model Army, including Cromwell's regiment, after a long hard fight won the day.
