Prince Murat Saluting The Emperor Napoleon by Felician Myrbach [Postcard]
Prince Joachim Murat, brother-in-law to Napoleon Bonaparte served during the French Revolutionary Wars and Napoleonic Wars. He received the military titles of Marshal of the Empire and Admiral of France. Taking part in the battles of Ulm and Austerlitz, Jena and Eylau along with serving Napoleon during the Russian and German campaigns. Ultimately he was taken prisoner by King Ferdinand IV of Naples and was sentenced to death by firing squad on the 13th of October 1815. Taken from the original book plates published 1893.
