A force of around 2,500 British and 400 French troops advanced on the Upper Northern Taku Fort on 1st August 1860. Depicted here are the men of the 67th (South Hampshire) Regiment of Foot as they scale the walls to capture the fort. The war is nowadays known as the Second Opium War and the regiment as of 1992 is part of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.
