The Advance of the 93rd Sutherland Highlanders at the Battle of Alma, 1854 by Richard Simkin
The 93rd would lose an officer and 51 men at the Battle of Alma, the Russian positions on the higher ground at Kourgane Hill allowed for significant cannon fire to reign down on the troops below and as such British losses were high, despite an ultimate victory for the allies, it would take a full two days to collect the wounded from the field of battle.
Professionally produced using a high quality inkjet digital press and printed on 300gsm art stock. These prints are at an affordable price for our collectors and include specially selected historical images from our large Cranston Fine Arts archive. Our archive of historical military art has been built over 30 years and we are now beginning to reproduce a selection of these works as high quality collectors prints, printed using professional digital methods instead of our traditional litho printing.
