The Battle of Brentford, fought on November 12, 1642 during the English Civil War, was a skirmish between Royalist forces loyal to King Charles I and Parliamentarian troops. The Royalist cavaliars under the command of Prince Rupert were victorious in driving the defenders back into the surrounding fields and the town was sacked.
