The Battle of Mirbat by Jason Askew. [Original Painting]

The painting shows several events in the famous SAS action known as the Battle of Mirbat of 19th July 1972 telescoped together. Sekonaia Takavesi is the figure firing the SLR on the left, whilst Talaiasi Labalala heroically fires and loads the famous Mirbat 25 pounder single handed. The figure on the right, jumping into the gun pit is Thomas Tobin, just before he was fatally wounded, and the figure in the middle ground kneeling and firing is Captain Mike Kealy.
