The Battle for Ober-Selk fought on February 3, 1864, was part of the Second Schleswig War. Austrian forces under Major General Leopold Gondrecourt successfully captured the village of Königshügel from Danish defenders, despite fierce resistance the battle's outcome provided the Austrians with a significant strategic advantage, leading to the eventual abandonment of the Dannevirke by Danish forces.
