Prince Rupert, after winning the Battle of Brentford Bridge and seizing the town, was again opposed by the Parliamentary troops under Essex at Turnham Green, November 13th 1642. The Parliamentary troops made a determined stand, leading to the withdrawl of the Royalists back to Kingston.
