NBP0178. The Battle of Wilson's Creek - August 10th 1861 by Louis Kurz

The Battle of Wilson's Creek occurred near Springfield, Missouri. General Nathaniel Lyon, commanding Union forces, faced a larger Confederate army led by Generals Benjamin McCulloch and Sterling Price. Despite Lyon's aggressive tactics and initial successes his forces were ultimately overwhelmed by the Confederate numbers and coordination. Lyon was killed in action, and the Union retreated.

Professionally produced using a high quality inkjet digital press and printed on 300gsm art stock. These prints are at an affordable price for our collectors and include specially selected historical images from our large Cranston Fine Arts archive. Our archive of historical military art has been built over 30 years and we are now beginning to reproduce a selection of these works as high quality collectors prints, printed using professional digital methods instead of our traditional litho printing.
