The Burial of Braddock by Howard Pyle [Postcard]
General Edward Braddock was a British military officer best known for his role during the early stages of the French and Indian War in North America Braddock led an ambitious campaign to capture Fort Duquesne but his forces were ambushed and decisively defeated by French and Native American troops in the Battle of the Monongabela. Braddock was mortally wounded in the battle and died shortly afterward. He is buried one mile west of Fort Necessity, Farmington, Pennsylvania.
