The Battle of Omdurman took place on the 2nd of September 1898
between British forces and Mahdist State forces in Sudan as part
of the Anglo-Egyptian conquest of Sudan. Pictured here is the charge
of the 21st Lancers against a flanking force of Mahdist troops.
