The "Die Hards" - (57th Foot) at Albuera by Richard Caton Woodville [New Print Edition]

The 57th (West Middlesex) Regiment of Foot, seen here earning their nickname at the Battle of Albuera. In total 422 men from the 570 in the regiment would be casualties of this battle, including two thirds of the officers, with their commanding officer William Inglis famously shouting "Die hard the 57th, die hard!" as he lay seriously wounded at the peak of the fighting.
