The French Retreat at Katzbach, August 26th 1813 By Richard Knotel [Postcard]

Seen here, the French flee over the bridge of Nieder-Crayn during the heavy thunderstorm that took place at The Battle of the Katzbach River. Hundreds of men would drown in the flooding rivers of the Katzbach and the Raging Neisse on their retreat from the brutal battle, fought largely in melee combat as a result of damp musket powder.
