In Medieval Times there were three types of horses commonly favoured among knights. The Rouncey; a general purpose horse that could be trained for war. The Courser; a swift and strong horse, the most often rode of the three and The Destrier; the most prized and strong war horse, also known as "the Great Horse". The Most important of all armour for a horse was called the chamfron which protected the horse's head.
