KNO0003B. The Life Regiment at Wartenburg, October 3rd 1813 by Richard Knotel

Prussian forces, led by Generals Gebhard von Blücher and Ludwig von Yorck, clashed with the French IV Corps under General Henri Gatien Bertrand near the town of Wartenburg. Despite being outnumbered, the Prussians managed to force the French to retreat, capturing 13 guns and 80 wagons. Seen here the Life Infantry Regiment, commanded by Heinrich Wilhelm von Horn, crosses a stream to push back French reinforcements, securing the Prussian victory.
