The Storming of Ciudad Rodrigo: Officers Carrying the Body of General Mackinnon by Richard Caton Woodville [New Print Edition]

The Siege of Ciudad Rodrigo lasted from the 7th to the 20th of January, 1812. Wellingtons army of 40,000 men went up against a French garrison of 1800, the Siege was a massive success and was a vital moment in the allied campaign during the Peninsular war. Major-General Henry MacKinnon was killed when an enemy magazine exploded, on the 19th.
