The Sundowners by Wilfred Hardy.
Grumman F-14 Tomcat serving with VF-111 Sundowners. The Sundowner name and insignia was derived in 1942 when the squadron was flying Grumman F4F-4 Wildcats out of Hawaii during training - a wealthy couple who adopted the fighter pilots designed the insignia with Wildcats shooting down a Rising Sun. The Sundowners began flying the F-14 in 1978, and served aboard the aircraft carriers U.S.S. Kitty Hawk, Carl Vinson, Ranger and Abraham Lincoln.
We have only a few of these sold out prints which were published in the late 1980s or early 1990s.
Open edition prints.
