Then Leaving Life, Earl Percy Took the Dead Man by the Hand by Archibald Webb [Postcard]
The Battle of Otterburn took place in August 1388, a border skirmish during the Anglo-Scottish Wars. Despite estimates claiming the English had a three to one advantage over the Scots, the battle went poorly for them. The Scots took a decisive victory, with exhaustion from the long march up to the border being cited primarily as the reason for the English defeat. Taken from the original book plate, published 1920.
Collectors postcard - first edition of 90 cards.
Postcard size 6 inches x 4 inches (15cm x 10cm)
