Then Leaving Life, Early Percy Took The Dead Man by the Hand by Archibald Webb [Postcard]
Artist: Archibald Webb [Browse all Archibald Webb]
The Battle of Otterburn took place in August 1388, a border skirmish
during the Anglo-Scottish Wars. Despite estimates claiming the English
had a three to one advantage over the Scots, the battle went poorly for
them. The Scots took a decisive victory, with exhaustion from the long
march up to the border being cited primarily as the reason for the English
defeat.
Taken from the original book plate, published 1920.
Postcard Size: 6 inches x 4 inches (15cm x 10cm)
